Obituary

On January 27, 2016, two days before his 90th birthday, Richard Stacy slipped away to his Heavenly home. Richard died in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

> Richard was born in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of Harlan and Rosella Patrick Stacy on January 29, 1926. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II aboard LST 669, seeing action in the South Pacific Theater. Upon discharge from the Navy, he enrolled in Marshall University, studying sales management. He was employed with Kerr McGee Chemicals for many years. Upon retirement, he had time to pursue his hobbies of fishing, boating and occasional singing in small clubs. Richard also enjoyed traveling, and with his wife, Barbara, he visited Europe several times, Canada, Mexico and many points of interest in the U.S.

> The highlight of Richard's life was his annual LST 669 reunion, meeting in various cities with his Navy shipmates, and served as its first president and two more consecutive terms. He never tired of telling his war stories and had a remarkable memory for remembering details.

> He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

> Richard was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Goldie Baumgardner and his son, Richard Stacy, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Schuman Stacy, son V. Scott Stacy (Gloria), daughters Kyra Stacy Fox (Rick), Joetta Stacy McLaughlin (Rusty), grandchildren Jillian Stacy Mason (L. Scott), Rachael Stacy, Luke Norton, Britt Norton, Richard McLaughlin, Stacy McLaughlin, Albert Marpuri, Michael Moore, Elizabeth Stacy, Jonathan Stacy, Daniel Stacy and Missy Garner.
