Obituary of Robert Barnes

Robert L. Barnes, Sr., 70, passed away October 19, 2009. He was born October 25, 1938 in Covington County, Alabama to Henry Lewis Barnes and Minnie Lee Manning Barnes. Robert served in the U.S. Army. He was a successful business owner with Barnes Properties, All Florida Trucking, Inc. and Erosion Control, Mulching & Seeding which he ran with his partner and dear friend, Billy Purvis. Robert was preceded in death by his son Robbie Barnes and is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jackie Barnes; daughter, Robin Barnes (Clayton Kirkmeyer); granddaughter, Amelia Renee Barnes-Kirkmeyer; many wonderful friends and a loving extended family. Robert was loved by everyone and will be dearly missed. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at 12:00pm, Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Arlington Baptist Church, 6009 Arlington Rd. Interment will be in Arlington Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight, Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 6:00-8:00pm in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd.
