Robert Arthur Carlson, 68, passed away in Clearwater, Florida on March 13, 2008. He was born in Montclair, New Jersey, but spent most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville and also The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He was an Engineer and worked for many years for Wood-Hopkins Contracting Company in Jacksonville and also for Misener Marine Construction Company in Tampa, Florida. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Clearwater, Florida.
Robert is survived by his wife, Alyce; one daughter Holly C. Morgan of Valrico, Florida; two sons, R. Darren Carlson of Tampa, Florida and Damon E. Carlson of Seminole, Florida; ten grandchildren and one sister Laraine McDonald of Leesburg, Florida. He was preceded in death by a daughter Layne C. Kerr of Jacksonville.
The family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road on Monday, March 17, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will take place in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery.
