Robert C. Glasgow, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020. He was 85. Robert was born September 10,1934 in Castalia, North Carolina, the son of Robert and Myrtis Glasgow.
Robert proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a jet engine Mechanic. After his military service, Bob became a police officer for the town of Poughkeepsie, New York in 1960 and retired in 1981. He then moved to Jacksonville, Florida. Robert was an avid member of the Scottish Society (McDuff Clan) for many years. He was a true and loyal advocate of the U.S. Air Force, Wounded Warriors, and a master history buff. Bob never met a stranger and he was at times...overly honest. Bob's favorite past time was collecting and assembling his model airplane and combat vehicles.
Bob is survived by Edna, his wife of 65 years; son, John (Jean) Glasgow; daughter, Virginia (Andrew) Gutierrez; granddaughter, Meagan (Ryan); grandson, John Jr. (Ellen); great-grandchildren; Valerie, Anslee, Albany and Robert, all of which he greatly loved.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtis Glasgow.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, January 9th at the Church of our Savior Episcopal, 12236 Mandarin Rd, Jacksonville, Florida. Reverend Trent Moore will be the celebrant. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery on Friday, January 10 at 11:00 am.
