Robert "Bob" Mitchell passed away on February 17, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL at the age of 72. He was born April 8, 1949, in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of Lawrence J. and Laurette M. (Labrecque) Mitchell. Bob graduated from Dover High School, Class of 1967. Following graduation, Bob served with the U.S. Marine Corp in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. After the Marine Corps, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he met Lorin (Weir) Mitchell. They married on March 19, 1977 and settled in Jacksonville. He then attended FCCJ where he received an Associates Degree in Drafting Design with a focus in Architecture. He was a long-time member of the Robert G. Durgin American Legion Post 67 in Newmarket, NH.

Bob had a passion for golf.  When he wasn't spending the week at The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra, you could find him sitting in his favorite spot on the couch watching golf on tv.  He also had a love for FSU football. He and Lorin loved to travel to Tallahassee to watch them play.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 5th at Highlands Presbyterian Church (10900 McCormick Rd.) Refreshments to follow in Harris Hall. For flowers, the family suggests Spencer's Designer Florist 904-337-8313, please direct all flowers to the church for the service, but the family also requests that in lieu of flowers to please donate to the American Heart Association.
