Robert "Bob" Spruill, 86, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Palm Coast, Florida after a short battle with cancer. Bob was born in Elizabethtown, North Carlonia to James and Mary (Smithwick) Spruill on October 2, 1939.  On June 27, 1965, he married Virginia (Williams) Spruill. They moved to Jacksonville in December of 1965; and loved everything Jax ever since!

Bob was a lifelong railroader; he retired from CSX in 2001.  Bob was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and grandfather.  He was involved in many activities with his favorites being youth sports and scouting.  Bob was an Eagle Scout; and spent many years in various volunteer roles in scouting.  He loved being outside, visiting parks, and being with his family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Spruill, his sister, Gail Spruill, of Denver, Colorado, and his wife Virginia Spruill.

Bob is survived by his two sons John (Karyn) and Vic (Nicole) and two grandchildren Kelsey and Kyler.

An inurnment service will commence Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00am in the Arlington Park Cemetery, 6921 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211.
