Rocky Alan Moore passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at his home in Jacksonville, FL. He was born July 16, 1957 in Homerville, Ga.
Rocky loved his family and friends, enjoyed helping others and bringing smiles and laughter into lives.
As a Navy brat, Rocky grew up in multiple places but proudly graduated from Lanier County High School in Lakeland, Ga. He spent most of his career in law enforcement and as a trainer and consultant for security. Some of his achievements included security detail for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and various celebrity events, as well as providing training for the Navy in armed secure tactics.
Rocky is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Jayne Moore.
Rocky is survived by his loving wife Terry; his daughter and son in-law, Tiffany and Ryan Gowens; and two grandchildren, Quinn and Brendan. He is also survived by his sisters; Schyla, Rhonda, & Audrey; his brother, Bill; and many members of his large extended family.
Rocky had battled cancer and heart disease over the past few years, but his sudden passing is devastating to those he leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to either City Rescue Mission or the Sulzbacher Center, both of Jacksonville, Florida. Rocky supported both of these organizations for many years.
