IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald
Dobson
May 16, 1961 – December 16, 2025
Ronald "Ronnie" Wayne Dobson Jr. passed away on December 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 16, 1961, in Frederick, Maryland, to Ronald Wayne Dobson Sr. and Sylvia Sherlene Dobson (née Beall), and was the oldest of five brothers. After moving around the country during his early years, his family settled in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1976. While attending Andrew Jackson High School, Ronnie met Cynthia, who would become his wife of 41 years. They married in 1984 and lived in Texas, Spain, and Florida, especially cherishing their time in Spain, where they enjoyed traveling and exploring Europe together. In 1992, they returned to Florida, where they raised their three daughters, Stephanie, Jessica, and Danielle.
A proud veteran, Ronnie served four years as a Navy Corpsman and nine years as an Air Force orthopedic technician, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his time in the Air Force, he served on the inaugural journey of the USNS Mercy on a humanitarian mission to the Philippines and South Pacific. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and later his Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. Ronnie worked for more than thirty years in healthcare management and the insurance industry.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted Jacksonville Jaguars fan and a season ticket holder for more than twenty years, attending every home game with his brother Shawn. Ronnie was deeply loved by many and was well known for his generosity, friendliness, and especially his sense of humor.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cynthia; his parents, Ronald Wayne Dobson Sr. and Sylvia; his three daughters, Stephanie (Gabriela), Jessica, and Danielle; his four brothers, Shawn (Tammy), Kevin (Wendy), Daniel (Mary), and Clinton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
A viewing will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., with a reception in the Family Life Center to follow. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
