Ronald J. Steck, 87, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in the Bronx, New York to Jeremiah and Marie Steck on June 19, 1931.

Ronald served in the Marine Corps in the early 1950s and was always a proud Marine.  He was employed by Florida Air Conditioners for 35 years.  He was a volunteer police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office for 15 years and was nicknamed "the boa constrictor" by his fellow officers.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah and Marie Steck.

He is survived by Elizabeth Lee Steck, his wife of 64 blessed years; daughter, Candice Steck Gross (David) ; granddaughter, Amye-Marie Wichael (Sam); grandson, Joseph Gross; sister, Audrey Cirulli; nieces, Lenore Cirulli and Darlene Peckham (Frank).

Additionally, he is survived by many family members from Elizabeth's family; many special friends and a loving and caring church family.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Holiday Hill Baptist Church, 730 Mandalay Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32216 with Dr. Albert Byrd officiating. A private family inurnment will be scheduled at a later date.
