Obituary

Royden L. "Roy" Coss, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at his home in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on January 17, 1928, in Cossville, Missouri, the son of Royden E. Coss and Frances Ferguson Coss.

Growing up on his family's farm Roy was instilled with the value of working hard.  He joined the Navy in 1945, before the end of World War II, and served until 1946.  He worked at WTLV, Channel 12 in Jacksonville from 1958, when it went on the air, until he retired in 1993 as Assistant Chief Engineer.  Roy loved watching baseball, having played in the minor leagues in his earlier years.  He enjoyed fixing things and working in the yard.  Roy always went at a task with the mindset of, if it was worth doing, it was worth doing right. In recent years, Roy enjoyed working with a Canadian Ferguson relative on the Ferguson Family Tree Story detailing his mother's family history.

Roy is survived by his children, Richard Coss, Michael Coss, Robin Wallen, and his grandson Christopher Wallen

Roy was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Zoeller Coss; parents, Royden and Frances Coss, his brother RayDell Coss and his sister Vera Dean Domitz.
