Obituary of Ruth Duncan

DUNCAN, VIRGINIA RUTH, 81, passed away peacefully August 17, 2009. Ruth was born January 17, 1928 in Greenwood, S.C. and has been a resident of Arlington for 46 years. She was a Registered Nurse, a master point bridge player, avid animal lover, dearest friend and the most loving mother a child could pray for. Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Herman H. Duncan, Jr. and her parents, Manor Lee and Annie Lou Hopkins. She is survived by her beloved children, Patricia Duncan and James Duncan, daughter-in-law Jane, grandsons Brandon and Cody, niece Sandra Davis and the Kinsey family of Georgia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 2:00pm in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
