Ruth Juanita Mahoney of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on August 16, 2018.  She was 98. Ruth was born August 5, 1920 in Columbia S.C. to Noah and Nellie Allread.  She is predeceased by her son, Dennis J. Mahoney and her husband Thomas G. Mahoney.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She had numerous hobbies such as gardening and golf, and was an outstanding athlete in high school. However,  her greatest enjoyment was scouring the Saturday morning garage sales for that single unique item, only to "gift it forward" to the next unsuspecting relative that showed up on her doorstep.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan (Gerald) Eidson, and Mary Ann Mahoney; sons include John T. (Marcella) Mahoney, James M. (Julie) Mahoney, Joseph J. Mahoney and Douglas P (Brenda) Mahoney.  Twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren.  Also, numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass for Mrs. Mahoney will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, November 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. This would have been their 81st Anniversary.

Community Hospice provided outstanding care for Mrs. Mahoney. We encourage donations to assist this very worthy organization.
