Born and raised in Alma Ga, parents Alfred 'Bud' and Azalee Wilson, now deceased, moved to Jacksonville as a teen at 18 where she met her husband David Clemons Sr, deceased in 1986, 2 children, David Clemons, Jr (Linda) of Winchester Tennessee, daughter,
Debbie Clemons Mims, (Eddie), of Jacksonville, grandchildren: Jennifer, (Bobby) Crystal (JL) Meghan, Nathan B Clemons, deceased in 2005, Great grandchildren: Tyler, Emma, Haley, Logan, and great great grand baby, Saylor Clemons
In 1993 Ruth married Rev Samuel Southerland (deceased 2012) and began another journey of life for 21 years, enjoying those years with Sam and his children: Gary and Randall Southerland, Sandy Stommel, Cheryl and Brian Smith with 2 grandchildren, Riley and Dillon (Madeline)

Ruth was a founding member of her beloved church, University Boulevard Church of the Nazarene, which she served as a good and faithful servant for 65 years until she entered River Garden Senior Home where she was well cared for and loved until her death.
God has welcomed her into heaven with open arms for a life well lived as his servant with the purpose of loving and caring for others. She has met her final goal, rejoicing in Heaven.
