Obituary of Ryan Ghioto

Ryan Joseph Ghioto, loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, died suddenly on May 15, 2008. Born on January 6, 1984, Ryan grew up in Jacksonville surrounded by his immediate family as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He graduated in 2002 from Terry Parker High School where he had competed enthusiastically on the wrestling team, earning himself the nickname Little Bulldog. Ryan developed a relationship with Christ through his involvement in the Life Teen program at Christ the King Catholic Church. He matured into an imposing adult presence due to many years of lifting weights and collecting tattoos, but everyone knew him as tenderhearted and kind. In 2004 he entered the electricians apprenticeship program with the Northeast Florida Builders Association. Ryan was a valued employee of the Titan Electric Group where he was respected for his solid work ethic and his strong character. He loved rock and roll, spending time with family and friends, and roughhousing with his beloved dog Pete.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Greg and Rebbie Ghioto, his sister Wendy, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, May 19, at Arlington Park Funeral Home with a Bible reading at 6:30 led by Deacon Dave McNamara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King on Tuesday, May 20, at 10 am, with Fr. Thanh Nguyen as celebrant. A reception will be held in the church social hall after interment in Arlington Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation to the Life Teen ministry at Christ the King Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
