Obituary

Sallie Highland-Edmond was born on August 10th, 1933, to the late parents of John and Daisy Highland-Blair of Lake Butler, Fl. She was educated in the school system of Union County and Duval County, Fl. She was joined in holy matrimony to Izell Edmond.

Sallie Highland-Edmond was a strong fighter; she moved to Yonkers, New York, and later joined The Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Hollinsworth.

Later she became a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, and found her passion for cooking. Sallie became an excellent cook.  She worked at Howard Johnson (HOJO), and she loved it!  Later she became the executive chef.

Sallie joined Faust Temple Church of God in Christ, a second home for her and her children. In her journey, she never faltered on the Word of God; she believed! Later she became a missionary at Faust Temple Church of God in Christ. Sallie's faith in God empowered her to become a three-time Cancer survivor by the grace of God.

When Sallie retired from Howard Johnson, she starter doing what she loved at Publix.

Sallie Edmond, beloved mother of seven children left to cherish her memories are Dianiah Gettis, Cathay C. Taylor, Kataski R. Corson, Dana V. Edmond, Angela Perry, Tina Walker, and her son Izell Edmond Jr. (who is deceased). She loved her children.  She was that mother who believed in the Word of God and raised her family on God's Word.  She left behind a host of grand children, Great grandsons, niece and nephews.

Her favorite sayings:

  1. "In This House, We Will Serve the Lord; 2) I can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me.; 3) "If Jehovah said it, I Believe it!

"Our mother loved us so much that she introduced us to Jesus"
