Sammie Jean Howard , 97, passed peacefully from this world on Tuesday October 11th, 2022, and went to join her husband, Cecil "Bill" Howard , who left us in 2011.

Born in Sarasota Florida, Sammie grew up in Jacksonville under the watchful eye of her beloved older sister Lottie. As a Navy wife, she lived in many beautiful places including Italy, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Johnson Island among others. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake, but also worked as an executive secretary, a radio operator, and a business school instructor. She raised two sons: Jeffrey, who passed in 2009, and Stephen who currently resides near Charleston South Carolina. She is also survived by her granddaughter Sydney, grandson Jay, and her nephew Jimmy.
She will be buried with her beloved husband of 69 years at Jacksonville National Cemetery. She will forever be in our hearts.
