Obituary of Samuel Howard
On Tuesday, February 28, 2012. My beloved husband, Samuel Charles Howard Jr. entered into the gates of heaven with his heavenly Father Jesus Christ forever. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, his children Toni (Dale), Samuel III (Camille), Lisa (Bill), David and his wonderful grandchildren Molly, Benjamin, Samuel IV, Cody, Dawn, Isabella and Olivia, also many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded by his parents Samuel C and Ila Howard, 4 brothers, 2 sisters. Sam attended Andrew Jackson High School, then entered into the US Naval Services 1949-1954. He and Carolyn married in 1952 and just celebrated their wonderful 60 years together. At 21 years of age he served as a Deacon at Franklin Street Baptist Church also later at Arlington Baptist Church and served as Chaplin in the Gideon Church Ministries. He was a member of the Arlington Masonic Lodge 32 degree Mason in the Scottish Rite. Sam was a member of the Morroco Temple Shrine for 50 years. He was also an active member in the Motor Cycle Escort and served as President for 2 terms. Graduated from Jones Business College with a B.A. Degree, retired from CSX as a Trainmaster as well served as a bailiff for 12 years assigned to Judge Ray Simpson. The family will receive friends at Arlington Park Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road on Sunday, March 4, 2012. Eulogy to be presented at 3:00pm and the viewing to follow. Interment will be held in the Arlington Park Cemetery with Masonic Rites and Military Honors on Monday, March 5 at 11:00am.
