Sara E. Blanton, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019.  She was 90. Sara was born on June 22, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Charles and Callie (Steward) Smart.

Sara moved to Jacksonville from Dothan, Alabama and was preceded in death by her husband James V. Blanton in 2001.  She was a loving caregiver for James during his 10-year illness. Sara attended Ft. Caroline Baptist Church and enjoyed many church activities with other seniors at Ft. Caroline.

Sara is survived by her daughters; Judy Carpenter (husband Gary) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Kathy Tepper (husband Steve) of Freeport, Florida; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday October 8th at the Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, Florida.  Sara's family will begin greeting guests at noon. Pastor Ricky Powell will officiate. Interment will be in the Arlington Park Cemetery following the funeral service.
