Sarah Crisler-Gurley, 90, born in Macon, Georgia to Griffin and Ellie Dobbs, passed away August 7, 2017 in Callahan, Florida.
She left her home on the farm and moved to Jacksonville to attend Secretary School. Sarah worked as a secretary at Wesley Manor, The Florida Department of Transportation, and retired from Florida Community College at Jacksonville in 1988.
Her hobbies included baking, playing cards, RV camping, and attending church socials. Throughout her life she attended Mandrin Methodist Church, Beaches Methodist Church, and Callahan Methodist Church. Along with her first husband, Jim Crisler, she was involved with the Disabled Veterans Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Martin Dobbs, her first husband, Jim Crisler, her second husband, Hoyt Gurley, and her two sons, Jeffery Monroe Crisler and Steven James Crisler.
She is survived by her daughters-in-law Janice and Kathaleen, her granddaughters Rachel and Katie and her
great granddaughter Isabella.
The Crisler family will receive friends for a Visitation Gathering Monday, August 14th from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 10am on Tuesday, August 15th in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Ken Barney officiating with a graveside blessing to follow immediately at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, FL, 32211 (904) 724-6384.
