Socorro "Nanay Coring" Ignacio, 96 years old, of Jacksonville, Florida, died peacefully to be with our Lord on February 18, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in the Philippines on January 30, 1920.
Family and friends were her passion and delight. She prayed for each member of the family, from the eldest to the youngest. It took her more than two hours every day, before her breakfast. She is known to everyone as "Nanay Coring", a sweet and loving woman. Her passions included cooking and sewing.
Widowed early, she raised her children: Evelyn (deceased), Danilo, Eduardo, Romeo, Alfredo, Cayetano, Imelda, and Jacquilene, mostly by herself.
Visitation and vigil will be held on Friday, February 26, from 5:00-9:00 at Arlington Park Chapel (6920 Lone Star Road 32211). Internment will be on Saturday, February 27, after a 10:30 mass being held at Christ the King Parish, officiated by Fr. Xaviour.
