Syble Lankford Moore Tibbitts, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020. She was 87. Syble was born October 28, 1932, in Gadsden, Alabama, the daughter of George Grover and Luvenia (Taylor) Lankford.

Syble graduated from Glencoe High School, Class of 1950, in Glencoe, Alabama. After graduating, she worked for GE Appliances in Oxford, and before leaving Alabama, she worked for Blue Mountain Industries as a payroll clerk from 1970-1984. She moved to South Florida and later relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, to be close to family. Syble lived at Cathedral Towers, where she worked at the front desk for several years before moving to Riverside Presbyterian House. She enjoyed being with her friends and family, playing cards and dominoes, fishing, reading, and gardening.

Syble is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Lankford of Jacksonville, Florida; and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved in several states, including Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, and Kentucky.

Syble was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Luvenia; husband, Curtis L. Moore (1980); brothers, Edwin of Cedartown, Georgia, Preston of Jacksonville, Florida, and Charles of Gadsden, Alabama; and sisters, Patsy Cook of Anniston, Alabama, and Erma Bryant of Jacksonville, Florida.

While living at Cathedral Towers in Jacksonville, Syble attended St. John's Cathedral and will be inurned at St. John's Cathedral in the Bishop's Garden on Saturday, September 26.
