Obituary of Theodocia Moore

Theodocia "Teddy" Knight Moore died June 9th at home. She was born in Arkansas on 8/18/1925. She resided most of her life in Florida. She married Leo Moore in El Paso, TX in 1946. During their early marriage they lived in the Fiji Islands, Hawaii and Germany. After this they settled in Florida. She was an active and faithful member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild, Building Committee, Chairman of the Memory Gardens Committee and VP of the Church Foundation Committee. She was a member of several clubs and organizations through the years and served on the board of many of them. Among these were the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Tampa Historical Society, Jacksonville Genealogical Society and several Garden Clubs. She served as a volunteer at Hope Haven Children's Hospital in Jacksonville and Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. She was an enthusiastic and accomplished bridge player. She was a Democrat. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Leo. She is survived by a son, Paul (Paula) of Jacksonville, a granddaughter Tara Skelton (Dr. Benjamin) and two great grandchildren, Owen and Lily of Mississippi; also, a sister Katie Knight Smith (Bob) of Houston, TX, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 7801 Lone Star Road on Saturday, June 13th at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA on July 6th. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the St. Andrew's Church Foundation, or to your charity of choice.
