IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Wallce
Aldridge
March 2, 1945 – January 9, 2025
Thomas Wallace Aldridge, beloved husband, father, grandpa, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on March 2, 1945, in Decatur, Alabama, to the late Wallace Aldridge and Betty Hunnicutt. Soon after birth he relocated to Jacksonville, FL where he lived on the Northside for his formative years. After returning from the military in the 60's he then moved to Arlington where he resided for the remaining of his life.
Tom lived a life full of purpose and adventure. He was a proud Marine who served in the Vietnam War, exemplifying the dedication and courage that defined his character. His passion for learning and self-improvement led him to achieve many notable accomplishments over the years. He earned his pilot's license, captain's license, and property appraiser's license, always striving to expand his knowledge and skills.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Tom was an ordained minister who dedicated time to helping others. His mechanical aptitude was unmatched—he could fix anything, no matter how complex the task. Tom was known for his honesty, charm, and engaging storytelling, and he was always a man of his word. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, and his presence brightened any room he entered.
For much of his career, Tom worked as the chief engineer at Channel 17 and later retiring as an electronics engineer for the United States Postal Service. His contributions to both organizations were invaluable, and he took great pride in his work.
Tom leaves behind his devoted wife of 43 years, Mrs. Brenda Aldridge. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Michele Aldridge and Sonja Yancey (Leland); one granddaughter, Samantha Yancey; and countless friends, family members, and colleagues whose lives he touched through his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering integrity. Tom's legacy will live on through the many lives he enriched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
