Obituary of Thomas Mitchell

Mitchell-Thomas F. Mitchell, Jr. age 62, passed away April 7, 2009. He was a loving fiance', devoted father and grandfather, and caring friend to all who knew him. He was born May 8, 1946 in Milwaulkee, WI, to the late Thomas, Sr. and Ellen Mitchell. Thomas lived and breathed baseball, from playing to coaching. He was a catcher for Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, TN from 1960-1964, followed by 5 years with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He coached the American Legion Post 88 and finished umpiring until the end. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary V. Cobb and Michelle Fitzhugh. He leaves behind his sons, Chris (Jennifer) Mitchell and Thomas Mason; grandchildren, Bryson and Christian; sister, Patricia Nunley; brother, Dennis Mitchell; soul mate of a wonderful year and a half, Candy Richards; and a special friend, Ron Myers; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11:00 in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home.
