Thomas Frank Ozment, age 90, who was born May 2, 1928 in Danville, Virgina, went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida.

As a young man, Thomas joined the Navy and served two years aboard the battleship USS New before receiving an honorable discharge.  After a rather short first marriage, he came to Jacksonville, where he met his wife of 57 years, Valerie Ozment.  He worked for the Independent Life Insurance Company for 32 years.  After retirement, he worked for Winn Dixie for eight years, and then Publix for another eight years.  Highly sociable and outgoing, Thomas loved making friends and acquaintances – and he excelled at it.  His charming, kind, and caring personality drew people to him and set them at ease.  He loved spending time with his family, and he treated his in-laws with the same love and respect as he did his blood relatives.  Most importantly, he loved the Lord and greatly enjoyed sharing his faith with others.  In his spare time, he enjoyed doing yard work and chatting with his neighbors.  Though his family is comforted by their faith and the promise that they will see him again, he will be missed tremendously.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Mitchell, his father, Nick Ozment, several brothers and sisters, and his ex-wife Dorothy.  He is survived by their children Judy Pruitt and Les Ozment, three grandchildren, and multiple great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Valerie Ozment.  He is additionally survived by their two daughters, Mary (Adair) and Vicky Ozment; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Stephanie; and two great-granddaughters, Isla and Heidi.  He is also survived by his sister, Connie Tesar.
