Thomas William Taegel, age 67, son of Alice Lucille Rayburn was born, September 26, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully November 25, 2017 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Tom struggled with head and neck cancer for 3 years. His wife of 36 years was by his side.

Tom grew up in the Arlington area of Jacksonville. He was a graduate of Terry Parker High School, a graduate of Jacksonville University with a Master's Degree in Music and a graduate of Jones College where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.

Tom was a musician first and was one of the founding members in bands: Zeus, Southern Reign, Mid-Life Crisis, and was currently playing with the band Puzzle.
Tom was proficient in many instruments such as: French Horn, Keyboards, Bass Guitar and Vocals.

Tom worked as a Computer Programmer throughout this life, with a long career at FloridaBlue.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Lucille Rayburn in 2012. Tom is survived by; his wife, Phyllis Taegel, his daughter, Brenda Byman (Robert), and two (2) granddaughters: Brin Balcom and Clare Byman.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
