Obituary of Uhlan Huitt

Uhlan (Bill) Arledge Huitt, 84, passed away on September 18, 2012 at Bradford Terrace in Starke, FL. He was born in Waverly AL to Willie K. and Dora Garner Huitt. He loved his country and served 22 years in the U.S. Navy. After retirement from the Navy, he moved his family to Jacksonville FL and started his next career at the Jacksonville Shipyards, in 1968 and retired in 1990. He is survived by daughter Linda Huitt Ludwig (Frank) of Jacksonville FL, Michael J. Huitt of Jacksonville FL, Donald L. Huitt (Becky) of Starke, FL, Kenneth E. Huitt of Jacksonville FL; brother Rochelle Huitt of Costa Rica; two grandsons, Christopher Huitt, Donald L Huitt; three granddaughters, Kathryn Huitt Buck (Josh) of Jacksonville FL, Lindsey Huitt Silva (Tony) of Jacksonville FL, Tara-Nicole Ludwig, of Jacksonville FL, as well as four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Alma Marie. Service will be held at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Long Star Rd, Jacksonville, FL, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Noon. In lieu of flowers, for those that wish to do something in his memory, the family asks that donations be made to Bradford Terrace, 808 S Colley Rd, Starke, FL 32091.
