Obituary of Uwe May
Uwe Emil May, 67, died peacefully Saturday evening, June 9, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, in Jacksonville, FL., with family members surrounding him.
He was born in Kln, Germany on June 28, 1944. He is predeceased by his father Otto F. May of Kln, Germany; stepfather David I. Sipple and mother Elfriede H. Sipple of Leesburg, FL; and his aunt Anneliese Bussman of Herford, Germany.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Deborah May and his only son Eric May of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his brother Henry (Betty Ann) Sipple of Lawrence, KS; his brother in law Nathaniel (Linda) Mead of Charlotte NC and his aunts Marianne (May) Nickenich of Kln, Germany and Joy Cunningham of Harrison, OH. Additionally, he is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He worked for Mazda Motors, Jacksonville, FL for many years and prior to his death he had worked at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek.
A funeral service will be held Saturday morning, July 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211 with Pastor Eric Williams officiating. Uwe was a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in his memory to Westminster Woods on Julington Creek, 25 State Road 13, Jacksonville, FL 32259
