Obituary of Velma Lowe

Velma Jewell Gay Lowe, 78, entered into her heavenly home, Sunday, March 28, 2010 following an extended illness. Velma Jewell was born on October 24, 1931 in Providence, Florida to her parents Lewis and Iona Gay, who preceded her in death. Also preceding Velma are her sisters Lois Brown, Ethel Ogburn; brothers Ray Gay, J.E. Gay, Drew Gay and James Coker. Velma leaves to mourn in her passing, her loving husband of 45 years, Glen O. Lowe; daughters Rheta (Fred)Dubberly, Lois (lloyd) Adcock, Beverly (Bobby) Shreve; sons Toby Starling, Gary (Holly) Jones; sisters Frances Boyd, Fay Martin; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. and a funeral service on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Willie Teem will be officiating. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL., or your favorite charity.
