Obituary of Vernon Joyner

Vernon Roger Joyner, 77, passed away on December 15, 2008. He was born at the family farm in Douglas, GA, October 18, 1931 to Roger and Thelma Joyner. He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of many years, Helen Sweat; and brothers, Roland and E. Dale Joyner. Vernon is survived by, nephews; Justin and Seth Joyner, aunts; Lottie DeLoriea, Irma O'Steen, and Sarah Joyner, and numerous cousins. Vernon was a deacon and devoted member of Hogan Baptist Church. Visitation will be at Hogan Baptist Church, 8045 Hogan Road, Jacksonville, Florida October 19, 2008 at 12:30 pm, with the funeral service to begin at 1:30pm. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hogan Baptist Church.
