Obituary of Victoria Long
Victoria Zesis Long, 87, died peacefully in her sleep January 19th after a brief illness. Following the passing of her husband, Robert M. Sr., Vicky lived with her son, Robert M. Jr., and daughter-in-law, LuAnn, in Merriam, KS, for the past two years. Vicky was born and raised in Goffstown, NH, graduating from Goffstown High School and Hesser College in Manchester, NH. Vicky and her husband, Bob, spent almost 65 married years as residents of Jacksonville. Vicky was a lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Church and was devout in her faith. Among the passions in her life were a love of the Red Sox, the Gators and cats of all shapes and sizes. Vicky also enjoyed her daily crossword puzzle and sitting in the sun with a good novel to read. Vicky was much loved and will be missed by her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund, St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 3850 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A Trisagion service is scheduled for Sunday evening, January 25th, 6:00p.m. at Arlington Park Funeral Chapel, 6920 Lone Star Road. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26th, 11:00a.m. at the funeral home with interment following in Arlington Park Cemetery.
