Obituary of Viola Dando

Viola " Dixie " Dando passed away on March 17, 2009. She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Dixie was a devoted member of Christ the King church for many years. She was a former member of Saint Vincent 's Auxiliary, having served as a past president as well. Dixie held a bachelors degree from Sargent College and was a physical therapist. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 beautiful years, Mr. William Durwood Dando. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Nancy Eschen (James), Betsy Dando, and Henry Dando (Lee); grandchildren, Brian Eschen, Stephanie Unger, and Tripp Hansen; great grandchildren, Sarah, Caiden, and Bryson Hanson; brother, Gordon Buchmiller; and many friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2009 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road , Jacksonville , Florida from 6-8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Road , Jacksonville , Florida at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Arlington Park Cemetery .
