Virginia Drew Miller (Ginny) died peacefully in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the age of 89.

Virginia is survived by her children, Kevin James Miller (Betty Jane); Pamela Lee Crafts; Randall Brian Miller (Julie) and grandchildren Megan and Kyle.  She is preceded in death by her sister Betty Pughsley.

Virginia was born on November 30, 1928 in Jacksonville, Florida to James and Virginia Pughsley.  She grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1945.   Always the adventurous one, Virginia moved to New York City after high school where she lived for several years, embracing the diverse culture and honing her sense of style and fashion.   From there she traveled to Europe and lived in Germany while serving her Country as an officer in the Women's Army Corps – which ultimately contributed to her ever-present curiosity and interest in the humanities.

In her later years, Virginia retired to a beautiful place in Georgia where, as a voracious reader, she was able to indulge in her favorite pastime surrounded by the serenity of nature she dearly loved.  She was a champion for all vulnerable souls and a generous contributor to many animal and children's causes.

Virginia will be remembered by her children as an unwavering mother who taught fairness, honesty and compassion and by all who will remember a graceful and truly remarkable woman.
