Obituary of Virginia Singletary

Virginia Japour Singletary, a native and life-long resident of Jacksonville left this life to begin her eternal life on October 17th, 2013. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Later in her life she became "Grandma Ginny" to all of her family and to other children as well. She had a great capability to always see the best in others and never failed to let everyone know how proud she was of even their smallest accomplishments. She was a devoted Catholic and avid sports fan for her entire life. Her presence in this world will be missed.

Virginia is predeceased by her husband, Charles Singletary, her son Wayne Singletary (Kathryn). She leaves on this earth her devoted and faithful sisters, Elizabeth Coughlin and Theresa Hudgins, her loving son Ray (Floris), grandsons, Spencer (Elena) and Matthew (Heather) Singletary, granddaughter Heather Portbury (David), great grandsons David, Damian, and Gabriel and great granddaughters, Hannah, Autumn and Elise.

A celebration of Virginia's life will begin with a Memorial Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Road, 32211 on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11 a.m.. Family will welcome friends from 10:00-10:45 before the service. The service will be followed by a reception in the Shirley David Hall immediately after the ceremony.
