Obituary of Wallace Williams

Wallace M. Williams, 86, passed away on September 11, 2008, following a long-term illness. Mr. Williams was born in Swansea, SC. After 22 years of loyal service to the United States Air Force he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1963. After he retired from the Air Force, he went on to be employed with the Florida Baptist Convention, from which he retired after 23 years. Mr. Williams has lived in Florida for 46 years and is a charter member of the Holiday Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed many years of traveling and fishing in Welaka, FL. He was a dedicated family man and devoted Christian. He served in many capacities over the years with his church. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings. He leaves behind a loving wife of 65 years, Betty Jean; two children, son Leslie (Edith) Williams and daughter Marjory (James) Hazouri, grandchildren; David Williams, Jacob Hazouri, Erika (Johnny) Barefoot, and two great-grandsons; Jaden and Johnathan, sister Nadeen Dickert of Columbia, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 3 to 5:00 pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 11:00 am at Holiday Hill Baptist Church, 730 Mandalay Road, Jacksonville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Holiday Hill Baptist Church.
