W. Darrell Bowen passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2025. He was born on May 2nd, 1957 in Goldsboro, NC.

Darrell enjoyed riding motorcycles, whether it was along the flat lanes of the Florida coastline, the winding roads into the North Carolina mountains, or all the backroads in between. He loved partying with friends or watching and encouraging all his children and grandchildren to do or say silly things, to be fearless, to try crazy ideas, and to resist the temptation to grow up.

He could be the heart of a gathering, telling grand stories for everyone to hear, or quietly off to the side with someone, sharing life's moments that would make you cry with laughter, or just cry. Like a good comedian, he had an uncanny ability to make people laugh and cringe at the same time. He wasn't traditional in the usual sense and always did things his own way. But if you were family or a friend, he always had your back.

He is preceded in death by parents Jarvis and Etta, wife Becky, brother Robbie, and grandson Laramie Jr.

He is survived by his siblings Joy, Linda, and Glen; sons Travis, Brandon, and Laramie. Grandchildren Becca, Kayla, Kyle, and Ava; great grandchildren Annabelle, Lorelei, Beau, and Lincoln; his beloved companion Debi as well as many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Services will take place at Arlington Park Funeral Home, starting with a visitation on Friday November 14th, 2025 from 6pm to 9pm. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 15th at 12pm with a graveside service to follow.
