Obituary of William Gaston

William Alexander Gaston III, 68, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 21, 2011 with family and friends by his side. Bill was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and caring friend to all who knew him. He was born in Washington D.C., on October 10, 1942 to the late William and still living Margaret Gaston. Bill was an Air Force veteran that did thirty years of service in the Florida Air National Guard. He was on the board of directors for Jax Metro Credit Union for many years and retired from the city of Jacksonville with the Department of Environmental Pollution Control. Bill was survived by his loving wife Glendolia (Sam) Gaston of 28 wonderful years; son William Alexander Gaston IV; daughter Angela (Bill) Lynne Gribbin; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Linda Barrington; brother Dennis Gaston and one niece. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and a funeral service on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 2:00pm, service will be officiated by Pastor Kelly Medders.
