Obituary of William Vincent

Mr. William (Bill) Henry Vincent Jr., 85, of Jacksonville FL. passed away in his home on August 23rd, 2011, with his family by his side.

A memorial service was held Saturday at 10 AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Mr. Vincent was born January 5th, 1926 in Littleton, NC to William and Marion Vincent. He was wed to Zelma Conn, on December 21st, 1950, and had two children together, Randy and Debra. William also served his country as a member of the US Army.

Their family moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1964 where Mr. Vincent co-owned the Budd Mayer Company, retiring in 1992 after 27 years of service to the Jacksonville community. Additionally, he was an active member of the Jacksonville Food Brokers Association, winning an award for his outstanding service as president in 1975. Mr. Vincent was also a devoted member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church and was dedicated to serving others, spending time helping with the clothes closet and food bank. He was also an avid golfer, recording his first hole-in-one on September 3rd, 1997 at the age of 71.

Mr. Vincent is survived by his brother Joseph B. Vincent of Savannah, GA; sisters Lou V. Barnes of Savannah, GA; Frances A. Gudely of Springfield, VA; and Patricia C. Leder of Potomac, MD. Also by son, Mark "Randy" R. Vincent of Jacksonville, FL and daughter Debra V. Myane of Zuni, VA. Additionally, the spirit he lived his life with is carried on by his four granddaughters, and one great granddaughter.
