Wilma M. Allen, 94, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on December 24, 2022. She was born in Paisley, Florida on December 9, 1928 to Nicholas A. and Hermine Wollitz who were Austro-Hungarian immigrants. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Jacksonville. She was baptized at St. Paul's Catholic Church by Msgr. Denis Lyons.
After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School, Mrs. Allen attended St. Luke's School of Nursing and graduated in 1951 as a registered nurse. She married Floyd E. Allen on February 26, 1951 and they later joined Holiday Hill Baptist Church. The Allens owned and operated Arlington Body Company for 43 years.
Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, ten siblings, and daughter Renee' Allen Bowen. She is survived by her son Ronald Allen (Donna) of St. Augustine, FL, daughter Marsha Allen Roberts of Jacksonville, FL, three grandsons, two granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters.
Before her decease, Mrs. Allen returned to the Catholic Faith and received the Last Rites of the Church. A Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul will be offered at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Jacksonville by Fr. David Thomas on January 7, 2023 at 9:00 AM.
