It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvette Shami Homsany. Yvette Shami Homsany (age 87) passed away peacefully on Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2025, with her family by her side.

Yvette was born on October 20, 1937 in Jaffa, Palestine. She was the beloved daughter of Khalil and Shafouka Shami. Yvette was predeceased in death by her parents, Khalil and Shafouka Shami; her husband of 54 years, Anthony Homsany; brother, Emile Shami and sister, Betty Kishek.

Yvette is survived by her son, Louis Homsany; her daughter, Sophie Almalik; her son-in-law , Michael; her grandson, Andrew and "dogster" Lucy. She also leaves behind eight siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Yvette spent her life being a loving daughter and caregiver to her parents. She was also a wonderful wife, a devoted mother, doting grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. Yvette was a school crossing guard for over twenty years. Yvette's faith in the Lord was strong. The last few years, Yvette endured many health issues. With this, Yvette always remained strong in her faith and had a positive outlook. We would like to take this moment to thank Dr. Richard Valenzuela, Nicole and the staff at Kidney Kare for their loving care and support.

Visitation is open to all who want to pay their final respect. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211.

There will be no information available about the funeral. Funeral service will only be attended by immediate family. Please respect the family's privacy.
