IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zarrell Lewis
O’Neal Crittenden
January 11, 1992 – January 1, 2020
Zarrell Lewis O'Neal Crittenden, 27, passed away tragically on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on January 11, 1992 to parents Lonnie F. Crittenden and Zonnetta M. Crittenden.
Zarrell began his life in a military household in Virginia. He moved to Jacksonville and Pensacola Florida, before returning to Jacksonville where it remained his permanent home, at age 6. He frequently spent his childhood summers with his extended family members in California. He is the youngest of his siblings. Zarrell loved basketball, and wore number 44 as a standout member of the Terry Parker High School varsity basketball team. Zarrell also participated in choir as a high school student. He was well liked by his peers, and went on to be crowned the Terry Parker High School Prom King before graduating with the class of 2010.
Zarrell made the decision to dedicate his life to serving GOD at the age of 18. He then became a faithful and avid member of Christians United, led by Pastor Eric G. Gibbs, the church that he was invited to by his future wife. Just one year later at age 19 on May 18, 2012, Zarrell made his high school sweetheart, Char-relle Crittenden his wife. Zarrell and Char-Relle had their first son, Noah in 2013 and went on to have two more sons Uriah and Ezra. Zarrell never wavered with his commitments to GOD, his wife or his children.
Zarrell provided for his family by using his GOD given talents and skills to serve others through the banking industry. Zarrell spent his valued time working as the sound technician and as a mentor to the youth at his church Christians United. Zarrell also volunteered as an assistant coach for the Terry Parker varsity boys basketball team. In his spare time Zarrell enjoyed playing basketball, playing NBA 2K, or just spending time laughing and joking with his family and closest friends. Most of all Zarrell enjoyed every single moment he had sharing his love and laughter with his wife and kids.
Zarrell was preceded in death by Grandparents Loretta Thomas and Winnie D. and Jimmie Lee Crittenden. His cousins Andre Dion Washington, Norshun Crittenden, and Daryl Crittenden.
